Every winter disc golfers around the world come together for charity through Ice Bowl events. The rules of Ice Bowl are simple, under no circumstances may an event be canceled due to bad weather and No Wimps or Whiners are Allowed!!

This year we are pleased to hold 3 seperate events for charity, bringing back the temporary 18 basket layout at Tilles Park in Fort Smith on Feb. 6th for a "traditional" disc golf format and on the very next day, Feb. 7th, we will hold a "Super Class Format" at Tilles.

Super Class is an alternative format that only allows specific molds of disc that are not beveled and are larger than the "traditional" golf disc, more like a recreational catch disc, this makes shorter courses more challenging for everyone and is a refreshing look back at the roots of true "frisbee golf", approved molds and to learn more about this format please visit http://www.pdga.com/super-class

Both of the Tilles events are PDGA sanctioned, due to the charitable aspect of these events there will be no $10 "Non-Member Fee" and all PDGA player fees will be donated to charity, these rounds will not receive "Ratings" due to mulligans being sold for charity, Current PDGA members will receive points.

On February 27th we are very honored to present the long running and original "Arkansas Ice Bowl" with the 2010 Horseshoe Canyon Ice Bowl at the beautiful Horseshoe Canyon Ranch in Jasper, Arkansas. Long time TD Jeff Ash will still be there as a player this year and also doing Firework shows on that Friday and Saturday night, though it's not neccessary to stay overnight, cabins may be rented, for more info about what many consider to be the most beautiful disc golf course in the world please visit www.gohcr.com

In 2009 WAFDA raised $3,050 and several hundred pounds of food for charity with our Ice Bowl endeavors. We hope to raise that bar even higher this year. Our charity for the Tilles events is the Community Services Clearinghouse which is a large Food Bank serving Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma. Our Charity for the Horseshoe Canyon Ice Bowl is the Newton County Christian Food Room.

We'd like to encourage everyone to support as many Ice Bowl events that you can, play 1 or play em' all, all for fun and a great cause, feeding the hungry.....we'll see ya on the courses!!
